We’ve been working to remove artificial flavors, artificial colors and artificial preservatives where possible. We constantly revisit our classic mixes to maintain their great taste and meet your high standards.
One of our scientists, set out to revamp our Wild Blueberry Muffin Mix, Protein Buttermilk Pancake Mix and Honey Cornbread & Muffin Mix. They removed every nonessential ingredient and reformulated the mixes without artificial flavors and artificial colors, going through dozens of iterations and rigorous testing panels before being satisfied that the end products met both our and our consumer’s standards.
Our Wild Blueberry Muffin Mix includes a can of wild blueberries packed in water only. Krusteaz Honey Cornbread & Muffin Mix is made with yellow cornmeal and real honey. Our Buttermilk Protein Pancake Mix is made with all whole-wheat flour, wheat and whey protein for a classically delicious pancake that packs a significant protein punch. Talk about a great way to start the day!
We tasked our R&D team to take our Meyer Lemon Bar Mix to the next level. Rethinking everything, from the texture of the filling and crust to the lemon flavor. We started with an idea around how our consumers think about lemon – should it be sweet? Tart and tangy? – We were able to perfect the bar, achieving a more tart flavor, firmer filling and a buttery, flaky crust. You definitely want to give this bar a go!
Our Meyer Lemon Pound Cake Mix was also reevaluated. Our food scientists took on this project, utilizing natural Meyer lemon flavor to create a more aromatic and flavorful cake with all the sweet, buttery richness and delicate crumb that a pound cake should have.
