STEP 1
Heat pancake griddle to 375°F (medium heat). Lightly grease griddle.
STEP 2
In a medium bowl, whisk together Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancake Mix and cold water.
STEP 3
Divide batter evenly among 3 squeeze dispenser bottles.
STEP 4
Add a few drops of red food coloring to one bottle of batter and a few drops of blue food coloring to another bottle. Use a skewer or long utensil to thoroughly mix the food coloring into the batter. Leave the third bottle of batter uncolored. Secure the caps back on all the bottles to seal them.
STEP 5
Starting with the uncolored batter, squeeze out a small circle (about 2-3 inches in diameter) onto the griddle to form the center of the firework. Next, use the red batter to draw several radiating lines from the center circle outward, creating a starburst effect. Follow with the blue batter, drawing lines between the red lines to complete the firecracker shape.
STEP 6
Cook pancakes 1 - 1 1/2 minutes per side, or until golden brown, turning only once.
STEP 7
Serve the firework pancakes warm, topped with your favorite ingredients. For a fun twist, serve with a side of colorful fruit skewers to enhance the festive theme!
